Silkeborg faced reality again this weekend when they lost home to FC Midtjylland whereas AaB got a well deserved win at last place Koge. That game was never in doubt and AaB will be heading into this match knowing that a win will take them very close to the top-4 of the Danish Superliga.

    AaB
Ruled out: Jeppe Curth, Chris Rolfe, Daniel Fredheim Holm, Marcus Tracy, Jakob Ahlmann and Dennis Marshall
    Home game record: 5-2-3

When looking only at the results, AaB has gotten of to a good start with 2 wins in 3 games. However the first game home against FC Nordsjaelland revealed some problems and only a close-to perfect game from AaB Keeper Karim Zaza secured an important 2-1 win. Next up they headed to FC Midtjylland where they lost 2-0. For this game, coach Persson had decided to bench creative midfielder Andreas Johansson who only came on for the 2nd game with the team already trailing 2-0. Johansson was once again in the starting line-up for this weekends game against Koge and he looked determined to prove his skills. With him in good shape and goalkeeper Zaza finding his form, AaB is going to be a strong opposition for any team. At home they haven’t performed to their best yet but with top 4 in sight they should be able to put together a good performance. They have lost striker Jeppe Curth to what looked like a season-ending injury but later examination has shown that it isn’t that bad and he will most likely be ready for the weekend-game. In his place striker Ronnie Schwartz steeped up and scored against Koge.

    Silkeborg
Ruled out: Rajko Lekic, Thorbjørn Holst & Peter Degn are all doubtfull
    Away game record: 6-3-2

So far Silkeborg has probably been the biggest surprise of the season. They have put together some quite impressive performances and also continued their winning ways, with a win in their first game in Koge 1-4. This was followed up by a last minute win at AGF that put Silkeborg 2 points behind Esbjerg in the 4th spot. Then they headed back home full of expectations but recorded a loss 0-2 to FC Midtjylland in a game where they didn’t look to good. They got a goal (wrongly) disallowed for offside late in the 2nd half but all in all it was a deserved win for FC Midtjylland. Silkeborg’s top goal scorer this season has been Rajko Lekic and there is no doubt that they are a poorer team without him. Also their main assist player Peter Degn is doubtful so keep an eye on the starting line up.

    Conclusion
Looking at Silkeborg’s away win record only, one could argue that this bet is rather stupid but Silkeborg has performed a little over their capability for a while now and their last game showed some signs of fatigue already. Its not that AaB has been fantastic either but they are always difficult to play against at home and opposite Silkeborg, AaB has underperformed so far this season. I see great progress in AaB’s first 3 matches and recommend betting on AaB to win, a bet that will be even more interesting if Silkeborg’s doubtful players will be forced out of the match.
