This game is a direct battle for the 4th and final Champions League spot in the Spanish League.

Mallorca:

Mallorca has never been an easy place to visit but nobody could have predicted that they would be perfect at home at this stage of the Primera Division. 10-0-0 and a goal difference of 25-3 is impressive and the main reason for their current 5th position, 2 points behind today's opponents Sevilla. Coming of a loss at relegation-threatened Tenerife last week, Mallorca will have to rely again on their strong homefield. They will have to do it without key players Josemi and Ruben Gonzalez (doubtfull). Their last home game resulted in a tight 1-0 win against Villareal with their winning goal coming late in the game from defender Nunes. Topscorer for Mallorca is Artiz Aduriz with 8 goals.

Sevilla:

Currently contending in 3 different title-races (Spanish League, Champions League and Copa Del Rey), Sevilla has their hands full. Coming off a home win against Osasuna last weekend, Sevilla enters this match on a high, with also having won the last 2 away games at Real Zaragoza and Valencia. Especially the win at Valencia witnesses of high quality. With attackers Kanoute and Luis Fabiano they have a deadly counter attacjk that could prove vital in this game as Mallorca will probably lead on ball-possesion. However Kanoute is doubtfull along side Squillace and Konko and with a long trip to Russia coming up this mid week for the Champions League game agains Moscow the question remains how Sevilla will prioritize this game.

Conclusion:

Neither team can afford to loose this game and with a difficult Champions League game coming up for Sevilla I reckon that they will be happy with not loosing track to Mallorca in the league. Mallorca's homefield advantage should be levelled out by Sevilla's strong counter attack capabilites and hence a draw seems the most likely outcome of the match
